Pastor Cynthia Shores Gray

Our Pastor is the daughter of the late Deacon Willie Shores and Pastor Lossie Shores of Jacksonville NC. Pastor Cynthia grew up in Mt. Sinai Holy Church, learning to play piano at the age of nine years old. As a church musician, the love of music flourished.

The Word of God was planted in our Pastor at a very early age because her parents believed in, and applied Proverbs 22:6Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

Pastor Gray is married to Elder, Dr. Alexander K. Gray and they have five children, Christina Walker, Tammy Hairston (Jujuane), Samira Cooke (Kevin), Jacque DeWalt (Krystal) and Alexander K. Gray, II (Jamea). They are the proud grandparents of Nine Grandchildren.

Though Pastor Gray was raised in the church, she did not develop a “personal relationship” with the Lord until her adult life. Once she said, “YES” all of the training given to her during her development years truly fell into place. Pastor Gray accepted the call into the ministry while living in Hawaii, and she doesn't take her responsibility to the LORD and her calling lightly. God has given her a message of love and forgiveness and she strives to communicate that message in her daily living.

Dr. Alexander K. Gray

Elder, Dr. Alexander Gray is a native of Charlotte, N.C., and is a retired Chief Warrant Officer 4, United States Marine Corps, and served on active duty for twenty-seven years. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Thomas Edison State College, a Master's Degree from Webster University, and completed his Doctorate Degree at Nova Southeastern University.

Dr. Gray co-serves as Pastor to the congregation at Mt. Sinai Holy Church in Jacksonville, NC and He is most certainly a mighty Man of Valor. Dr. Gray works tirelessly toward the perfecting of the saints in this part of the Vineyard of the LORD and enthusiastically reaches outside these walls to bring others to Christ. His compassion and love of people are unfailing as he leads others to Christ by the example of his living testimony.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.
-Mark 12:30-31
